Olympic Behavioral Health's schizophrenia treatment center is located at 3618 Lantana Road in Lantana, Florida, 12 miles south of West Palm Beach, and serves Palm Beach County.
Outpatient schizophrenia treatment begins once psychotic symptoms are stabilized, and covers the months that follow a hospital stay.
Our JCAHO-accredited, DCF-licensed program treats schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder and schizophreniform disorder in stabilized adults aged 18 to 65. Daily groups, weekly individual therapy, on-site medication review and one therapist across every level run at PHP, IOP or OP, so a client keeps living at home.
If you or someone you love is in danger right now, call or text 988. That line answers at any hour.

After Stabilization
Olympic Behavioral Health treats schizophrenia across three outpatient levels once a hospital stay is behind the client. This schizophrenia treatment center is built for the recovery that follows, not for the crisis, and admission opens once psychotic symptoms are stabilized.
Schizophrenia treatment has two halves. A psychiatrist for schizophrenia manages the medication, and the structure built around that medication decides whether stabilization holds past the first months.
An outpatient schizophrenia treatment center covers the second half. Olympic Behavioral Health carries that half in structured hours, leaving a client's evenings, home and family routine intact.
Schizoaffective disorder and schizophreniform disorder enter the same schizophrenia program on the same stabilization terms.
Nothing here asks about symptoms and nothing gets scored. Pick whichever line sounds closest to your week, whether you are the one diagnosed or the one holding things together, and read a straight answer to it.
This is not an assessment. It answers common worries and it decides nothing about anyone's care. If you or someone you love is in danger, call or text 988 at any hour.
Admission Criteria
Olympic Behavioral Health admits adults aged 18 to 65 into schizophrenia treatment once psychotic symptoms are stabilized, after a phone assessment and clinical review. Anyone in an acute episode is referred to a higher level of care first.
Palm Beach County recorded 237.1 hospitalizations for schizophrenic disorders per 100,000 residents in 2024, above the Florida rate of 229.2 and in the highest quartile of counties, on Florida Department of Health figures. Stabilization is what turns a hospitalization into an outpatient referral. Olympic Behavioral Health accepts adults who:
Ask Whether Outpatient Is the Right Level
A phone assessment costs nothing and answers the stabilization question in about 30 minutes.
Inside the Program
Every level of schizophrenia outpatient treatment carries weekly individual therapy of 50 minutes to 1 hour plus daily groups. A primary therapist is assigned at admission and stays with the client through every level change.
Groups run on the mental health track, kept separate from the substance abuse groups. The work is the practical shape of a stabilized week: sleep, routine, taking medication on schedule, and noticing a change early enough to act on it. Schizophrenia case management runs alongside the groups, covering outside appointments and the paperwork that keeps a prescription current.
Levels of Care
Three levels carry schizophrenia treatment at Olympic Behavioral Health. Partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient sit in order of structure, and level follows how much the week still needs. Average length of stay at the two intensive levels runs 30 to 45 days. Psychiatry, therapy and case management all sit at the Lantana address, so a level change does not mean changing providers.
| Level of Care | Program Hours | Schedule | Clinical Content | Admission Profile |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PHP, Partial Hospitalization | 30+ hours a week | Seven days. Weekdays 9 AM to 3:30 PM, weekends 10 AM to 1 PM | Daily groups, individual sessions, psychiatric review, family therapy | Recently stabilized and still finding a routine |
| IOP, Intensive Outpatient | 3 hours a morning | Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 12 PM | Morning groups, weekly individual therapy, medication management | Stabilized and rebuilding a working week |
| OP, Outpatient Schizophrenia Counseling | 4 hours a week | One 3-hour group each week | Group work, coping skills, relapse prevention | Holding steady and staying connected |
A client whose primary diagnosis is schizophrenia and who also uses substances enters the dual diagnosis treatment track, with both conditions on one plan.

Evidence-Based Therapies
Medication is the foundation of schizophrenia treatment and a prescriber manages it. Every part of the schizophrenia treatment program below runs alongside medication at Olympic Behavioral Health, never in place of it.
CBT works on the beliefs and reactions that build up around schizophrenia symptoms, and on the confidence lost during an episode.
Group runs daily on the mental health track. A predictable room of people is part of schizophrenia treatment rather than an addition to it.
Distress tolerance and emotion regulation give a client in schizophrenia treatment something usable in the hours between appointments.
Schizophrenia family sessions run weekly as needed, and a relatives meeting fills Monday evening from 7 PM to 9 PM, for families only.
Neurofeedback targets arousal and broken sleep. A clinician decides whether it belongs in a given schizophrenia plan.
A certified family nurse practitioner reviews schizophrenia medication on site, with psychiatrist referrals available where a case needs one.
Olympic Behavioral Health names no schizophrenia medication on this page, because what gets prescribed is decided after the psychiatric evaluation.
Diagnoses Admitted
One Olympic Behavioral Health program covers three related diagnoses. A second condition alongside them changes the schizophrenia treatment plan rather than the eligibility.
Schizoaffective disorder carries mood episodes alongside psychotic symptoms. Olympic Behavioral Health admits schizoaffective disorder once stabilized, and treats the mood episodes as their own target rather than as a symptom of the psychosis.
Schizophreniform disorder describes psychotic symptoms that have run under six months. The phone assessment settles which of the three levels a schizophreniform week can hold.
Substance use alongside a primary schizophrenia diagnosis runs on one plan, under a DCF license covering mental health and substance abuse together.
Depression in the months after a schizophrenia episode is named separately at intake rather than folded into the psychosis.
Schizophrenia treatment at Olympic Behavioral Health is for adults only, so younger clients are referred to a service equipped for them.
Insurance and Cost
Schizophrenia treatment bills as an outpatient behavioral health benefit. Olympic Behavioral Health is in-network with TRICARE, works with PPO plans on out-of-network benefits, and confirms the payable figure before admission rather than after the first month.
Schizophrenia is a long-term condition, so the cost question covers months rather than weeks. Olympic Behavioral Health accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, UMR, GEHA, Humana and Anthem on out-of-network PPO benefits. Coverage is worth settling before anything else, because it rules more families in or out than any clinical question does.
INSURANCES WE ACCEPTTRICARE is the only in-network plan. Every other payer named is accepted on out-of-network PPO benefits for schizophrenia treatment. Medicaid and Medicare are not accepted at Olympic Behavioral Health.
Free and confidential. Olympic Behavioral Health admissions is open Monday through Friday.

Secure and HIPAA compliant. No Medicaid or Medicare.
Why Olympic Behavioral Health
Olympic Behavioral Health puts six supports around a stabilized schizophrenia week. Structure steps down in stages, one therapist carries the history, and a prescriber works on site. Readmission is what families name first, and all six work against it.
Three levels run from 4 hours a week to more than 30, so a schizophrenia client moves down in stages rather than all at once.
A certified family nurse practitioner works on site, with a board-certified psychiatrist as medical director, so a schizophrenia prescription does not wait on an outside appointment.
The primary therapist assigned at intake stays through each step down of schizophrenia treatment, so nobody retells the history at every stage.
The DCF license covers mental health and substance abuse, which permits one plan where substance use sits alongside schizophrenia.
Olympic Behavioral Health sends families a monthly newsletter and keeps weekly contact from the treating therapist, alongside the Monday relatives meeting.
Olympic Behavioral Health includes psychiatrist referrals for medication management and therapist referrals for continuing schizophrenia therapy in discharge planning.
Admissions
Discharge planners, case managers and families all start the same way. Olympic Behavioral Health takes the call, and the clinical director approves each schizophrenia admission.
Olympic Behavioral Health admissions staff ask where the schizophrenia diagnosis stands now. A relative or a discharge planner can make the call.
A benefit check returns the payable amount at all three schizophrenia treatment levels. The check obligates nobody and takes minutes.
Diagnosis, current medication, recent hospital history and daily function are recorded by phone. That call settles whether symptoms are stabilized enough for outpatient schizophrenia treatment.
Paperwork and a belongings check come first, then a clinical meeting with the clinical director or the assigned therapist, and the initial clinical assessments. Olympic Behavioral Health assigns a case manager and a primary therapist on the day of admission.
Same-day admission available, subject to criteria.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about schizophrenia treatment at Olympic Behavioral Health, covering admission, psychosis, levels of care and how families pay for it.
An outpatient program is not the first step here, because Olympic Behavioral Health takes schizophrenia admissions only after symptoms are stabilized. Florida has a legal route for involuntary examination that runs through physicians, law enforcement or a court, and a crisis line or the treating prescriber can explain it.
Psychosis describes a set of symptoms, and schizophrenia is one diagnosis that produces them. It also appears in schizoaffective disorder, schizophreniform disorder, bipolar disorder and several medical conditions. The diagnosis sets the treatment, which is why intake establishes it before a level of care.
Medication prescribed by a psychiatric provider is the foundation, and structured schizophrenia therapy around it carries the rest. Olympic Behavioral Health provides the second part at three outpatient levels, with cognitive behavioral therapy, daily group therapy, family sessions and medication review on site. No medication is named before a psychiatric evaluation.
Stabilized adults with schizophrenia do live alone, and independence returns in stages rather than all at once. What supports it is a steady medication routine, a standing appointment and someone who notices changes early. Olympic Behavioral Health offers supportive housing in Lake Worth to intensive outpatient clients wanting a step in between.
Check the payer first, because it decides more than anything else. Olympic Behavioral Health accepts neither Medicaid nor Medicare for schizophrenia treatment, so holders of either need a provider that bills those programs directly. TRICARE is in-network and commercial PPO plans apply out-of-network benefits.
Schizophrenia intensive outpatient runs mornings, Monday to Saturday from 9 AM to 12 PM at the Lantana center. Group therapy fills the morning, with weekly individual therapy and medication management alongside. Clients live at home, which is what separates it from an inpatient setting.
The Lantana center is at 3618 Lantana Road, Suite 200, Lantana, FL 33462, one exit off I-95 at Exit 61. Partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient schizophrenia care all run from that address, twelve miles south of downtown West Palm Beach.
