Adult ADHD counseling at Olympic Behavioral Health takes place at 3618 Lantana Road in Lantana, Florida, 12 miles south of West Palm Beach, and serves Palm Beach County.
Adult ADHD is inattention, impulsivity or hyperactivity that has started costing work, study or a household.
Our JCAHO-accredited, DCF-licensed program handles ADHD assessment, screening and prescribing on site for adults 18 to 65, at PHP, IOP or OP, under a medical director board certified in General and Addiction Psychiatry. Behavioral therapy and daily group work sit on one plan that treats adult ADHD alongside substance use, anxiety or depression.
If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. It answers at any hour.

Assessment to Medication
ADHD counseling runs from assessment through medication management. Olympic Behavioral Health provides psychiatric evaluation and ADHD assessment on site, and treats the substance use that arrives alongside untreated attention problems, on one plan under one clinical team.
Van Emmerik-van Oortmerssen and colleagues' 2012 meta-analysis "Prevalence of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder in substance use disorder patients", published in Drug and Alcohol Dependence, pooled 29 studies and found that ADHD appears in 23.1 percent of people in substance use treatment. Roughly one in four.
Adult ADHD counseling delivered without treating the substance use treats half the problem, and the untreated half brings the first half back.
Olympic Behavioral Health is DCF licensed and dually licensed for substance abuse and mental health, so adult ADHD and a substance use disorder appear on one plan rather than two referrals.

Admission Criteria
Olympic Behavioral Health admits adults aged 18 to 65 whose ADHD arrives alongside a second active diagnosis. A phone assessment settles which diagnosis that is. The answer decides the level of care, and the severity of the ADHD does not.
An estimated 6.0 percent of adults in the United States had a current ADHD diagnosis on CDC survey data collected in late 2023. In Palm Beach County, 13.1 percent of adults reported poor mental health on 14 or more of the past 30 days in 2022, against 15.0 percent across Florida, on Florida Department of Health data. A weekly therapist suits most adults with ADHD. Olympic Behavioral Health accepts adults who:

A phone assessment costs nothing, commits nobody, and settles the question in about 30 minutes.
Inside the Week
An ADHD counseling week holds daily groups and one individual session of 50 minutes to 1 hour. The timetable itself is set client by client at intake, along with a primary therapist and a case manager. That schedule carries the structure weekly therapy cannot.
Executive function does not improve by being discussed weekly. Executive function improves when somebody has to be in a room at 9 AM six days running, and when the gap between sessions is short enough that a plan survives it. ADHD behavioral therapy here is built on that. Three things run for every ADHD admission at Olympic Behavioral Health:
Levels of Care
ADHD treatment hours follow the level of care, and the level is set at intake. Partial hospitalization runs 30 or more hours a week and outpatient runs four. Olympic Behavioral Health reassesses the level at each step, and average stay at the two intensive levels runs 30 to 45 days.
| Level of Care | Hours per Week | Schedule | Clinical Content | Admission Profile |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PHP, Partial Hospitalization | 30+ hours | Seven days. Weekdays 9 AM to 3:30 PM, weekends 10 AM to 1 PM | Daily groups, individual sessions, psychiatric review, family therapy | Substance use active, no routine left |
| IOP, Intensive Outpatient | 9 to 12 hours | Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 12 PM | Morning groups, weekly individual therapy, skills work | Working, and the mornings are the problem |
| OP, Outpatient | 4 hours | One 3-hour group each week | Group work, relapse prevention, maintenance | Stepping down, or a lighter entry point |
If the prescription became the problem. Misuse of a prescribed stimulant is treated as a substance use disorder, not as an ADHD question, and those clients belong on the Adderall addiction treatment track.

Same-day admission at Olympic Behavioral Health is available when admission criteria are met, with next-day admission as the alternative.
Evidence-Based Therapies
Olympic Behavioral Health uses six methods for adult ADHD: cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT skills training, group therapy, family therapy, mindfulness training and art therapy. Every method is behavioral and runs alongside medication rather than instead of it, and a counselor sets the order at intake.
CBT for ADHD adults targets procrastination and the avoidance loop around tasks that feel impossible to start. Each task gets broken into steps and tested against the week.
Distress tolerance and emotion regulation cover ADHD impulsivity. Skills are practised in group, not described in a handout.
ADHD group runs daily and supplies the structure inattention erodes. Being expected somewhere at a fixed hour is part of the treatment.
Untreated adult ADHD is a household problem by the time anyone calls. Family therapy runs weekly as needed, with a relatives meeting Mondays.
Mindfulness is trained as attention practice rather than relaxation. The target is noticing the ADHD drift early enough to do something about it.
Art therapy suits clients who lose the thread in conversation-only sessions. Art therapy runs on the mental health track alongside group and individual work.
Adults who arrive with an outside prescriber keep that prescriber, and an adult ADHD therapist here works alongside an outside prescriber or the psychiatrist on site.
Diagnoses Admitted
Four conditions are treated alongside adult ADHD at Olympic Behavioral Health: substance use disorder, prescription stimulant misuse, anxiety and depression. The second diagnosis sets the level of care, and every active diagnosis is named on one treatment plan.
ADHD and substance use disorder co-occur in 23.1 percent of people in substance use treatment, and both are carried on a single ADHD treatment plan under one licensed provider.
A stimulant prescription taken outside its written directions is a substance use disorder. Stimulant addiction treatment carries those clients, and adult ADHD and substance use are treated as two named conditions on one plan.
Anxiety builds on a decade of missed deadlines. Anxiety is treated as its own diagnosis, not as an ADHD symptom.
Low mood after years of underperformance is treatable. Adult ADHD, alcohol use and depression are screened together at intake, because each one hides the other two.
Olympic Behavioral Health treats adults aged 18 to 65 only, so ADHD treatment for anyone younger is referred elsewhere.
Insurance and Cost
ADHD counseling is paid from the outpatient behavioral health benefit, at whatever level of care a clinician sets. Olympic Behavioral Health confirms the payable figure with the plan before an admission date is agreed.
Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, UMR, GEHA, Humana and Anthem are the PPO plans accepted here. What each of them releases turns on the remaining deductible, so two clients on the same plan can owe different amounts for the same ADHD counseling week.
INSURANCES WE ACCEPTTRICARE is the only in-network plan for ADHD counseling. Every other payer named is accepted on out-of-network PPO benefits. Olympic Behavioral Health does not accept Medicaid or Medicare.
Free and confidential. The Olympic Behavioral Health admissions team answers 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

Why Olympic Behavioral Health
One doctor prescribes for the ADHD and for the substance use. The ADHD psychiatrist on site at Olympic Behavioral Health is board certified in Addiction Psychiatry, so a stimulant prescription and a substance use history are weighed by the same clinician instead of being split between two.
Dr. Maryam Davari is board certified in General Psychiatry and in Addiction Psychiatry, and holds an addiction psychiatry fellowship from Jackson Health and the University of Miami.
Dual licensure for substance abuse and mental health means one ADHD treatment plan replaces a referral out.
Intensive outpatient runs Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 12 PM. For adult ADHD the frequency is the point.
Group runs daily. Adults told for 20 years that they were lazy hear the same feedback differently from a peer with the same ADHD diagnosis.
The primary therapist assigned at intake carries the ADHD case through every level change, so no plan gets rebuilt from scratch at each step.
TRICARE benefits are confirmed with the contractor at no charge, and the figure comes back before anyone commits to an ADHD counseling level.
Admissions
ADHD assessment and screening both run on site at 3618 Lantana Road, before admission. Olympic Behavioral Health verifies benefits first, then completes a phone assessment of about 30 minutes, so the cost is settled before the clinical work begins.
The Olympic Behavioral Health admissions team covers the ADHD schedule, cost, and what the program does and does not provide, in that order.
The check returns what a plan pays at each of the three ADHD counseling levels. Running the check commits nobody to admission.
ADHD history, substance use, psychiatric history, current prescribers and daily function are recorded by phone. The Olympic Behavioral Health clinical director approves each admission.
Paperwork and a belongings check come first, then screening for the second diagnosis alongside the ADHD. An Olympic Behavioral Health case manager and a therapist are both assigned that day.
Same-day admission available, subject to criteria.
Frequently Asked Questions
Four subjects come up on a first call about adult ADHD: prescribing, assessment, levels of care and insurance. Olympic Behavioral Health answers nine questions on them below.
Yes. ADHD medication management is provided in house by a certified family nurse practitioner, with psychiatrist referrals available. The Olympic Behavioral Health medical director is board certified in General Psychiatry and in Addiction Psychiatry. What gets prescribed follows the psychiatric evaluation, and no ADHD medication is named before that.
Yes. Psychiatric evaluation and ADHD assessment both run on site at the Lantana center, and medication management follows from them. Formal neuropsychological testing is a separate service that Olympic Behavioral Health does not provide, so anyone specifically wanting that needs a psychologist.
Medication and behavioral work run together at Olympic Behavioral Health, delivered by different providers. The behavioral half runs at a frequency a weekly appointment cannot reach, alongside treatment for whatever else is active with the ADHD.
Treating one and leaving the other is what produces the return admission. Both go on a single ADHD treatment plan here, which is the reason the program exists rather than an added service. Detox is coordinated first where it is needed.
Yes, under the outpatient behavioral health benefit that commercial plans carry. TRICARE pays in network at Olympic Behavioral Health and PPO plans pay out of network. Medicaid and Medicare are not accepted, so neither covers an ADHD counseling admission here.
Yes. A diagnosis made in childhood carries into adult care, and the ADHD assessment on site can confirm it. Bring who diagnosed you and roughly when. Where no record survives, the assessment establishes the picture again at Olympic Behavioral Health.
Sessions run at 3618 Lantana Road, Suite 200, Lantana, FL 33462, off I-95 at exit 61 and about 12 miles south of downtown West Palm Beach. One Olympic Behavioral Health site serves ADHD counseling clients from right across Palm Beach County.
An addiction psychiatrist, where ADHD sits alongside drinking or drug use. Stimulants are Schedule II, so prescribing decisions change when a substance use history is present. Dr. Maryam Davari is board-certified in General Psychiatry and in Addiction Psychiatry, the subspecialty covering that overlap, and serves as medical director at Olympic Behavioral Health.
A psychiatric evaluation establishes the diagnosis, and medication management follows from it. At Olympic Behavioral Health the evaluation and ADHD assessment both run on site in Lantana. Formal neuropsychological testing is a separate service the program does not provide.
